THE BRIDGE FORWARD CAMPAIGN
Honoring Kevin Anthony by Keeping Our Promise to Bronx Students
Keeping the promise. Investing in futures.
Last year, federal funding cuts resulted in the full elimination of CBC’s NY GEAR UP program. As a result, hundreds of high school students who had been receiving ongoing college and career guidance suddenly lost access to support they were relying on during critical years of preparing for life after graduation.
While CBC continues to serve students and families across multiple programs, sustaining this level of support during a changing funding landscape requires community investment. The Bridge Forward Campaign was created to help ensure that students continue to receive the guidance, encouragement, and opportunities they deserve as they prepare for life beyond high school.
The GEAR UP program was especially close to the heart of CBC co-founder Kevin Anthony. Kevin believed deeply in the potential of every young person CBC served and made a personal commitment that CBC would walk alongside students from high school into their postsecondary future.
Following Kevin’s passing just a few months ago, CBC remains committed to continuing the work he cared about most — ensuring that students have access to consistent support, meaningful opportunities, and someone who believes in their future.
As part of The Bridge Forward Campaign, CBC is launching the Kevin Anthony Memorial Scholarship, providing direct financial support to graduating seniors as they take their next step into college or career pathways.
Over the next eight weeks, CBC aims to raise $50,000 to help sustain critical services impacted by federal funding changes and ensure that Bronx students and families continue to have access to college and career guidance, advising, and exposure to opportunities that expand their futures.
Every contribution helps CBC continue building pathways to opportunity for Bronx students.
